The Ramesh Mohan Library at the EFL University,Hyderabad campus, is a Resource Centre for academic andresearch activities in the areas of Language Teaching, Linguistics, and Literatures in English and foreign languages.
A state-of-the-art library, it supports the academic work at the university providing both print and digital resources for the study of language teaching, linguistics and literature in English and foreign languages. It also provides access to electronic journals under the UGC Infonet Programme.
The major objective of the library is to provide relevant andup-to-date bibliographic information to the faculty, researchscholars, and students at the University.
The Library subscribes to a large number of learned journalsand periodicals. Online access to some of the print journalsis also provided. The bibliographic details of the librarycollection are available on computers using NewGenLibSoftware. The Library also has a good collection of audiotapes, video tapes, and CDs.
The Library users can access books through Online PublicAccess Catalogues (OPAC). The Library has automated itsin-house activities like Serial Management, Acquisition, andCirculation Services.
The entire collection of 1,67,000 books and back volumes have been automated and the same can be accessed with the help of OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) within the library. This information can also be accessed by the users outside the campus through WEB OPAC. The library has digitized the entire EFL-University theses collection and the full text of theses can be accessed within the campus. 3M electro-magnetic gates at the entrance of the library provide security to the books and other reading materials.
The library subscribes to a large number of learned journals and periodicals. Online access to some of the print journals is also provided. The library provides access to databases like, JSTOR, Project Muse, and online journals published by, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Springer Taylor and Francis and Wiley under UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium. The library also provides access to books published by Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press.
Three air-conditioned reading rooms, children section, section for differently abled users (proposed), photocopy unit and a reading room opened round the clock are some of the facilities provided by the library to its user community.
