The Lucknow Campus of the University has a large number of students even from the southern states, apart from states like Himanchal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Rajasthan and Assam. In addition the university attracts foreign students as well especially from the Middle East.

Besides providing reservation for SC/ST and OBC students, the university also provides additional facilities to the SC and ST students. No tuition fee is charged from SC/ST students and they get a monthly stipend of Rs.1000/- (Under-graduate and Post-Graduate students). No room rent is charged from SC/ST students who require hostel accommodation. For Ph.D. students the stipend is Rs. 8000/- per month.
