Responsibilities of the Department

The responsibilities of the Department of French and Francophone Studies are to:

• Teach French as a foreign language
• Teach French literature
• Teach Francophone literature
• Train students in translation from English to French and vice-versa
• Teach French and Francophone culture
• Promote research in the areas of French linguistics and phonetics, translation, French language teaching and French and Francophone literature
