- Dr. Caroline Wahlang was born and raised in Shillong, Meghalaya. She completed her education and graduated with a degree in Mass Media from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong. She earned her Master's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from COMMITS, Bangalore, with a focus on Audio Visual Communication (AVC). She earned her Ph.D. in the same field from Berhampur University in Orissa. Dr. Wahlang also has a Master of Arts in Gender and Development Studies (MAGD). Besides qualifying the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Journalism and Mass Communication, she has qualified the National Examination in Women's Studies (NET).Dr. Wahlang has been awarded a Minor Project grant for “Media Representation of Gender Power Relations in Matrilineal Meghalaya” by ICSSR, New Delhi, during 2018-2020. In addition, she remains actively involved in extracurricular activities, such as, facilitating workshops and seminars on topical issues affecting the younger generation. She is actively involved in the awareness campaigns of drug addiction and HIV/AIDS through collaboration with recognized organizations. She shares her academic expertise, from time to time, with colleges and universities across the North East Region, as well as with Government and non-profit organizations.
