Brief bio note

Having passed the written examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission, Dr. Kokila was appointed as Hindi Pradhyapak in the Hindi Teaching Scheme of the Central Hindi Training Institute, Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, on 09th December 1994. Later, she was selected as Assistant Professor in the Department of Translation Studies, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, on 26th July 2010. Since then she has been teaching various courses to Ph. D. Scholars, M.A. and B. A. Students and supervising the work of Ph. D. Research Scholars along with M. A. Dissertations and PGDT Projects.

Indian Literature in Translation, Comparative Indian Literature, Comparative/Contrastive Linguistics, Audio-Visual Translation, Technical Translation

Dr. Kokila has successfully supervised six Ph. D. Research Scholars in various areas like

1) Socio-Cultural Perspectives of Translations of Bhagwadgita in Bangla,

2) Higher Education Textbooks and Translation

3) Intertextuality and Translational Relations in Malayalam

4) Colonialism and Translations of Abhjnanshakuntalam into Malayalam

5) Translations Women’s Autographical Writings from Malayalam into English

6) Quantitative Study of Film Remakes from/into Telugu

Dr. Kokila has authored, translated and edited a few books. She has delivered a number of Guest lectures and Presented papers in Seminars/Conferences on Translation
