Dr. Karmveer is an Assistant Professor of German in the Department of Germanic Studies, EFLU, Regional Campus, Shillong. He has completed his MA, MPhil and PhD from the Centre of German Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has been a part of various translation activities, such as, a translation project under the DAAD programme, “A New Passage to India”, in collaboration with the University of Wuppertal, Germany, a UPE II Project on “Traces of the Global: Displacement, Memory and Cultural Citizenship”, JNU, New Delhi, a Translation Project conducted by the Goethe Institute, New Delhi, etc. He has also been awarded the Translation Prize of the Goethe Society of India in 2015 and has been granted a research fellowship by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, Germany, to conduct his research work at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin.
