- Dr. Surendra Singh Negi teaches in the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, India. He currently holds the position of Principal Investigator, Latin American Studies research cluster at the same university. Dr. Negi is the Director of Researchers’ Network on Memories and Arts from Latin America (Grupo de Investigadores en Memorias y Artes Latinamercanas or GIMAL in Spanish), an international research network comprising of researchers from Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, India, Italy and Sweden. His areas of research/interest involve Latin American Literature of 20th and 21st century, Contemporary Latin American theatre, Latin American social movements of 20th and 21st century, Memory Studies, Trauma Studies and Comparative Literature. Dr. Negi has participated in several national and international conferences and has published in various scientific journals in India and abroad. He occasionally collaborates as a columnist/commentator on world affairs with print/electronic media bodies such as Telesur, Prensa Latina, Newsclick.

Research projects (ongoing)⚽ Dr. Surendra Singh Negi is the Principal Investigator of an international research project “History, Post/Memories and Trauma in the Southern Cone of Latin America (2000-2020): Contemporary interdisciplinary approaches”. The project is being carried out under the Latin American Studies research cluster of The English and Foreign Languages University.
