- Prof. Lakshmi Haribandi is the Head, Department of Translation Studies and the Dean, School of Literary Studies, The English and Foreign languages University, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. She has been teaching in the Department of Translation Studies for the past 27 years. Her area of specialization is Translation Studies. She has authored two books on theory and practice of translation, edited one volume of research articles on translation, published a book of short stories in English translation from Telugu, edited a volume of Telugu translations from English and published 33 research articles dealing with various aspects of Translation Studies and also has to her credit 24 short stories in translation from Telugu into English and vice versa. She has contributed as a course writer four chapters of self-study material on translation for an Undergraduate Text book in English- Theory and practice of Translation, of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad, Telangana. She ran successfully a weekly column- English Easy, for the Telugu daily, Eenadu, from June, 2002 to June 2007.She offered a course on Communicative English for the students of the government schools and colleges in Andhra Pradesh for one year, for the academic year 2004 to 2005, live through KU-Band, MANA TV Educational Channel.Under her research supervision 12 PhDs and 3 M. Phils were awarded and one Phd submitted so far. Presently four scholars are pursuing their PhD under her guidance.

- ⚽ Served as Warden for the two Indian hostels-MCBH and AMH from September, 2010 to May, 2014.⚽ Served as Provost of Tagore International Hostel for Men from September, 2015 to November, 2018.⚽ Served as the Head of the Department of Translation Studies from 2004 to 2009⚽ Has been serving as the Head of the Department of Translation Studies since 2012.⚽ Served as the Director, Centre for Translation and Interpretation for four years, from 2017 to 2021.⚽ Has been serving as the Dean, School of Literary Studies, since August, 2022.
