- Prof K. Padmini Shankar is a teacher, teacher trainer and researcher. She has designed and offered new courses for the Postgraduate programmes in ELT and TESL such as The Teaching of Skills, Teaching English to Young Learners, Psychology for Language Teaching etc. She has taught proficiency courses in vocabulary, grammar and reading for international participants as part of the International Training Programme (ITP). She has conducted workshops for teachers across primary, secondary and tertiary education, including teachers from foreign countries such as Sri Lanka, Colombia, Ecuador and Kazakhstan. Prof. Shankar has rich experience in materials production. Besides producing materials for the National University Students Skill Development Programme in three levels, she has authored coursebooks in grammar and listening and speaking. She is also the series editor of coursebooks of grade levels 6-8. She has been offering research guidance to PhD students and has been guiding M.A projects. She has published widely in areas such as teacher training and development, teacher cognition and language teacher identity construction. She has rich international exposure through conference presentations in countries such as The United States, The United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Macau, Japan etc. She is the recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship for International Education Administrators Seminar (IEAS, 2018) and Women in Education Leadership Award (World Education Congress, 2020)
