- Rajneesh Arora is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Contemporary English, Regional Campus, Lucknow. Before joining Lucknow in 1994, he worked in RIE, Chandigarh from 1990 to 1994. He did his Ph. D in discourse analysis of drama from Panjab University. He has an MA in English literature from Kurukshetra University. For his M. Litt. and PGDTE in CIEFL, he worked in the area of Phonetics. He was awarded British Council Hornby Trust Scholarship in 2003-04 for his MA Language Teaching (Applied Linguistics) in Lancaster University, UK and he was a Visiting Fellow in the University of Warwick, UK in 2008. He has presented papers and given talks in several national and international conferences. He has written one textbook and a number of articles in books and journals. He has also written modules for E-Paathshala on Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis and has been guiding research (20 M.Phil. dissertations and 18 Ph.D. theses till date) in the interdisciplinary areas of Linguistics, Literature and English Language Teaching. While at RIE, he produced spoken English materials and wrote radio lessons for All India Radio. His current interests include discourse analysis, pragmatics, gender, advertising, and English language teaching in India. At present, he is the Director, Regional Campus, Lucknow. He was also the Director, Regional Campus, Shillong for a year in 2021-2022.
